Moon Society Nashville Outpost at Nashville Symphony 4/6

I, Chuck Schlemm, the Moon Society Nashville Outpost, had a fun afternoon at the Nashville Symphony family performance of “Orchestra in Space” at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center Sunday 4/6 1:30-4:30.

I presented my “Apollo to Artemis and Beyond“ exhibit to their ~500 guests and spoke directly with ~120 children and adults. I used 33 models to tell about America’s space program including Apollo, Space Shuttle, ISS, future commercial space stations, SpaceX Falcons and Starships, Artemis Moon landers, Lunar Gateway station, Blue Origin’s New Shepard & New Glenn and a Mars relief map of Jezero crater and the Perseverance rover’s exploration path.

A friend had his amazing meteorite exhibit including a 16 pound stony iron meteorite, a piece of Vesta, a 3-4” slice of a Moon meteorite along with dozens more. These are museum quality pieces.

The symphony played 4 pieces from Holtz’s “The Planets” series and 3 pieces from “2001”, “Star Wars” and “E.T.”  The performance was narrated humorously by two “spaceflight directors from Mission Control”.

Our next event is the Nashville Outdoor Recreational Expo at Bell’s Bend Park 9-3:00 4/12.
Followed by a Yuri’s Night dinner at Asihi Hibachi and Buffet 6-8:00.

Let me know if you plan to come.
